Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved you! You were within me, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for you. In my unloveliness I plunged into the lovely things which you created. You were with me, but I was not with you. Created things kept me from you; yet if they had not been in you they would not have been at all. You called, you shouted, and you broke through my deafness. You flashed, you shone, and you dispelled my blindness. You breathed your fragrance on me; I drew in breath and now I pant for you. I have tasted you, now I hunger and thirst for more. You touched me, and I burned for your peace. St. Augustine of Hippo
I have read and been told many times and in many different ways that one should dissolve the critic in your head. Kill him with kindness or action, meditation or affirmations.
This is wonderful advice for some but I realized recently that it does not work for me.
I was sitting in deep thought after some really deep soul work and the critic came up and wanted to go a round with me. I recognized him (for me it’s a “him”) and almost pushed him out when it occurred to me that I Recognized The Critic and know him all to well.
For me, I find it best to welcome the critic, for now, so that I can acknowledge him and kindly mother him, for just a minute, and then detach from him with love.
It gives me a chance to reaffirm my positive beliefs and strengths and mother myself to freedom.

We are sure to take time out each evening, just before dinner, to walk up on the land and envelope ourselves in the beauty that surrounds us.
There are always little treasures to find and tonight there were an abundance.
A discarded nest, robin egg, turkey egg and best of all blackberries!
This is what grounds me with oh-so-much gratitude.
Everything is just so alive. The sky. The animals. The Land.
And mostly, our Hearts.
Well hi there, its so nice to have you! Please sit back and stay awhile.
This is the space I have created to share my experience and inspiration with other Mama’s that have taken the journey down the Road Less Traveled (and in their quest for Staying True to themselves, may have taken a few “Adventurous” turns along the way).
This is a place to share the tools that have been graciously shared with me and express the beauty I capture and create in the world around me .
It is where self-expression meets self-actualization
This is the journey to my path Home and a soft place, if you need, to land.
Many Blessings Upon You,
Nina- The Magdalene Mama
